PARKING TIPS

PARK SMART IN DENVER!

  1. Street Sweeping: Remember to “Show Your Pride, Move Your Ride” on your street sweeping day. Sign up for a free “e-minder” or call 3-1-1 for free calendar stickers. Also, parking is prohibited on most downtown streets from 2am-6am Sunday through Thursday so that those streets can be swept.

  1. Meter Violation: Be sure to put enough time on the parking meter to cover your stay!

  1. Overtime Meter Violation: Check the meter for a time limit and move your vehicle when your time is up so that others can access the space. Please don’t add money to the meter after your time limit has expired – if you have overstayed the time allowed in the space, you may still receive a citation.

  1. License Plate Expiration/No Front Plate: Immediately apply license plate renewal stickers to your license plate, and remember that in Colorado vehicles must have valid license plates on both the front and back of the vehicle.
  1. Allow Five Feet When Near Alleys/Driveways: When parking next to an alley or driveway, be sure to allow at least five feet from the curb cut to the end of your vehicle. Having a vehicle too close to an alley or driveway can result in a citation and/or a collision when drivers or emergency vehicles are trying to access an entrance.
